Van Hove scenario for high Tc superconductors
We give a general description of our approach which explains many physical properties in the superconducting and normal states of almost 2D high Tc superconductors (HTSC). This 2D character leads to the existence of Van Hove singularities or saddle points in the band structure of these compounds. 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
متن کاملFerromagnetism in the two dimensional t - t ′ Hubbard model at the Van Hove density
Ferromagnetism in the two dimensional t-t ′ Hubbard model at the Van Hove density Abstract Using an improved version of the projection quantum Monte Carlo technique, we study the square-lattice Hubbard model with nearest-neighbor hopping t and next-nearest-neighbor hopping t ′ , by simulation of lattices with up to 20×20 sites. For a given R = 2t ′ /t, we consider that filling which leads to a ...
متن کاملFriedel oscillation near a van Hove singularity in two-dimensional Dirac materials.
We consider Friedel oscillation in the two-dimensional Dirac materials when the Fermi level is near the van Hove singularity. Twisted graphene bilayer and the surface state of topological crystalline insulator are the representative materials which show low-energy saddle points that are feasible to probe by gating. We approximate the Fermi surface near saddle point with a hyperbola and calculat...

متن کاملImpurity-induced polaritons in a one-dimensional chain
A detailed analytical study of an impurity-induced polariton band arising inside a spectral gap between lower and upper polariton branches is presented. Using the microcanonical method, we calculate the density of states and the localization length of the impurity polaritons. Analytical results are compared with numerical simulations, and excellent agreement is found. © 2000 Optical Society of ...
